Our History
Our Ministry was founded February 13th 2003 by Pastor Kenneth E. Jarman. Pastor Ken had a desire to see his family and friends worshiping God together "as they had done in the past". Through many hours of prayer, God put into Pastor Ken's heart that if he would step out in faith, and take up the vision God had given to him, God would make a way for this to happen. It took a lot of hours, praying and studying God's Word, and a lot of paper work, but on February 13th 2003, Open Door Outreach Ministries was born and Pastor Kenneth E. Jarman was Ordained of God to Pastor this Ministry. On March 30th, 2003 we held our first services in a garage in Albert and Carol Jarman's back yard. Jesus was born in a stable, so why couldn't we have church in a garage, after all, it could seat 45 people. The Word of God was preached by Pastor Ken and God was with us. Then God opened another door for us and we moved into a location at 2503E Neuse Blvd, on May 11th, 2003. God's Word is preached every Sunday and on Wednesday Nights we have a solid look at God's Word through verse by verse Bible Study. On May 22nd, 2008, God once again opened another door in Charleston, SC. Open Door Outreach Ministries of Charleston was established and became a part of this ministry. Lisa J. Mills an Ordained Minister of Open Door Outreach Ministries is leading the Charleston ministry from which she travels to minister through teaching, evangelizing and outreach events. On May 22nd. 2010, God once again opened another door in Anderson, SC. Mark Wall was Ordained a Minister of Open Door Outreach Ministries and is Evangelizing throughout South Carolina and where ever the Lord in His providence might send Him. Mark was called to Pastor a new Church Plant in Anderson. The first service began April 3rd, 2011 at the Quality Inn in Anderson, SC.In May of 2010 A Name Change was made and we became Apostolic Ministries of New Bern in order to be more in line with what God was redirecting for this Ministry's Mission. We were to come out of the four walls of the building we were in and go forth into the City, the County, the State and Wherever God would open a door for us to Minister to the Lost, the unsaved and the Saints. We welcome the opportunity to speak or hold a teaching conference in your church or organization. You may contact us using the "Contact Us" page on this website.
